Mindfulness is a practical and simple practice of being present, relaxation and self-awareness.

How long is each weekly class and what happens?
Each class is one hour long. There will be a guided meditation for a period. This will include meditation instruction. After the meditation and instruction, there will be a talk or discussion. This includes a question and answer time.
Who is it suitable for?
This course is suitable for any of the following:

About The Trainers
The approach of all Mindfulness Works teachers is straightforward, practical and heartfelt and directed towards you discovering your own innate wisdom and authentic experience.
Paul Lewis – Port Macquarie
Paul discovered mindfulness meditation when searching for an alternative to antidepressants from which he had experienced severe side effects. Many sessions with a psychiatrist and various psychologists and talking therapies seemed, in the long run, also not to be of any lasting benefit.
Depression and anxiety had been a constant companion for much of his life, at times making his life almost unbearable.
Twenty years later the symptoms are under control thanks, says Paul, to his mindfulness practices. He has also developed a regular yoga practice which also helps to bring his mindfulness into everyday life.
Paul has also been a student of Buddhist and yogic philosophies and participated in many long-term silent retreats. He’s studied in various ashrams here in Australian and in India and the U.S.
These days Paul credits his more spiritual focus with going beyond just surviving to now thriving. Life still throws up its challenges but he has an unshakeable confidence that a sense of joy can always be found in the stillness that lies within, even in troubled circumstances.
Over the past five years Paul has been teaching various kinds of meditation practices as well as co-facilitating full day mindfulness retreats. With a view to strengthening his qualifications, he is about to study to become a qualified yoga teacher.
Paul is passionate about sharing his experience in managing depression and anxiety as well as helping people discover their own inner storehouse of joy and sense of wellbeing and become the best version of themselves they can imagine.
