FINDING PEACE IN A FRANTIC WORLD
(PFW) COURSE

MINDFUL SELF-COMPASSION
8 WEEKS OF BEFRIENDING OURSELVES
WOOLOOWIN
October
Self-compassion, simply put, means being a friend to yourself.
Most of us are incredibly kind towards others, but tend to be a lot more critical, judgemental and unforgiving towards ourselves.
The Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) programme is a way to learn how to motivate yourself and build your inner resources with mindfulness, kindness and compassion.
This warm-hearted, open-minded course allows us insight into our emotional discomfort, together with the resources to help maintain balance, build resilience, improve relationships and decrease our suffering.
You’ll learn:
- how to give yourself permission to stop, slow down and savour the moment
- how to stop being so hard on yourself
- how to motivate yourself with encouragement rather than criticism
- how to handle difficult emotions with greater ease
- how to transform difficult relationships, both old and new
- mindfulness and self-compassion practices for home and everyday life
- the theory and research behind mindful self-compassion
- how to become your own best friend and ally.
Expect lots of practice time, juicy discussions and opportunities to share the joys and sorrows of being human with like-minded people.
MSC is a practical, evidence-based program, transforming our relationship to our thoughts and emotions and offering you a way to tolerate and tackle the challenges of a busy world.
It’s great value, costing less than $20 per hour and includes free guided audio and workbook.

OUTDOOR MINDFULNESS TRAINING
FITZROY
Welcome to Reality Based Mindfulness (RBM). We are dedicated to providing mindfulness training in a range of contexts. Operating outdoors in parks throughout Melbourne we strive to enable you to apply mindfulness techniques to your daily life. With our wide range of mindful therapy services, we can help you improve your general wellbeing, focus and productivity.
The RBM Approach: You might be wondering, like many of our students, how the teaching of mindfulness techniques can be applied to everyday life. The RBM approach focuses on real world situations, not just traditional meditation. Through our outdoor meditation sessions in local parts, we target real world situations as opposed to controlled environments. While a more challenging environment, this will make it easier to integrate the practice into daily life. Much like a sports coach trains an athlete in sports specific exercises, we train mindfulness for the real world.
When: Saturdays, 10.30am – 11.30am, Wednesdays, 12.00pm – 1.00pm
Venue: Elk Wellbeing, 282A Queens Parade, Fitzroy

CONNECT MINDFULLY WITH NATURE
AVALON, NORTHERN BEACHES
Sunday, 23 August
We will immerse ourselves in nature where you will be invited through gentle guidance to open up to the beauty of the present moment.
We will explore the following:
- How to use your senses of sight, smell, touch and hearing to become even more present in nature.
- Letting go into the present moment to explore your spacious connection with nature and the heightened senses and feeling of peace that may arise.
- Guided open awareness mindfulness meditation.
In the walk, we will mindfully practise ‘being’ instead of ‘doing’. Therefore the walk will be more like a slow wander as opposed to a strenuous bush walk. The walking track will at times be uneven so suitable walking shoes are recommended.
In order to adhere to social distancing, the walk will be limited to maximum 3 people.
Dates and Time: Sunday, 23 August (10.00am – 12.15pm)
Where: Angophora Reserve, Avalon. We will meet at the entrance on Palmgrove Road.
Facilitator: Gavin Eichholz
Cost: $30 per person — place reserved on payment via EFT before walk.
For Enquiries: To find out more about mindful walking, see past participants testimonials and to book your place contact Gavin at gavin@empowertoshine.com.au or visit http://empowertoshine.com.au
EXPLORING MINDFULNESS MEDITATION WITH iREST® YOGA NIDRA
FOUR-WEEK COURSE
2020
RICHMOND AND BAULKHAM HILLS
This four week Exploring Mindfulness Meditation course is a perfect follow-on from the introductory mindfulness course. It will teach the iRest® yoga nidra meditation protocol as a basis for further exploration of mindfulness.
It could be said that the 10 steps of iRest® are Universal truths that lead you to peace, happiness and wholeness — to return you to your innate state of simply being — to get acquainted and familiar with that part of you that remains unbroken and is always whole and complete. It is spiritual exploration, without any trace of religion, and yet it is completely compatible with religion.
This course will give you tools that you can apply 24/7 in your life. It will offer you a complete self-care system that you can weave into your life in a way that works for your unique circumstances. You may be seeking to manage challenging circumstances in your life, find relief from pain or insomnia or other health concerns. You may be seeking a greater sense of purpose or meaning in your life. Whatever healing is required, it will come out of wholeness that is already yours, rather than moving away from a sense of lack. You don’t need to be fixed or changed. You are already whole. You will discover that you are your own teacher and experience ways to reconnect to this ever-present wisdom within you.
This course is taught in a trauma sensitive manner.
Catherine is an IRI Certified iRest® teacher.
