DEVELOP A DAILY MINDFULNESS PRACTICE

DEEPEN YOUR SENSE OF JOY AND PRESENCE

ALLOW MORE SELF-LOVE

One of our biggest challenges as mindfulness practitioners is developing a sustained, regular mindfulness practice. This course addresses this challenge with practical ways to foster a daily practice. It also offers the supportive environment of a group of people all intending to practise on a regular basis.

As we continue to practise mindfulness, we often notice a deeper appreciation of life, our environment, our relationships and our self. A sense of natural presence can start to re-emerge, which has an openness and depth to it. We are less likely to be thrown off course by the challenges in life as we have a deeper sense of connection and intimacy with our own tender humanity.

One of the most debilitating aspects of modern life is self-criticism and self-judgement. This can arise in very subtle ways that endlessly plague us, telling us we should be different than we are. Mindfulness allows us to see through the lies of this self-judgement as we start to recognise and feel our own natural OKness. We are less needing to ‘improve’ or change ourselves as we accept more and more our life and ourselves, just as we are.

SAFETY, SATISFACTION AND CONNECTION

The Mindfulness 2.0 course is an innovative approach to mindfulness and meditation. The course is based on your own experiential learning, core formal meditation, personal development practising with others, and the core components of wellbeing, safety, satisfaction and connection.

SAFETY — Understand and feel what it is like to be OK with your experience, even in difficult times. Learn to rely more and more on your own presence for your own wellbeing.

SATISFACTION — Realise you are OK – just as you are, even if your mind is saying something different. Discover the real benefits and joys of a regular formal meditation practice.

CONNECTION — Feel connected to something bigger than yourself and feel greater intimacy with yourself, life and with other people.

DESIGNED FOR YOU

Mindfulness 2.0 has been designed by senior Mindfulness Works facilitator, Glenda Irwin. Glenda has brought her experience, qualifications and passion as a mindfulness educator, business woman, coach and parent to create this powerful and unique course. In particular, Glenda has created the course to:

  • Support you in developing a regular formal meditation practice
  • Learn and practise practical ways of increasing well-being and feelings of self-acceptance
  • Understand the psychology and neuroscience behind mindfulness and its effectiveness
  • Create a sense of support with an experienced teacher and like-minded practitioners in the course.

Glenda has trained with Amy Saltzman (USA ‘Still Quiet Place’). She is the creator of ‘Mindful Colouring for Kids’.  Glenda is a director of Mindfulness Matters, teaching mindfulness to organisations and the general public. Glenda is also trained in  ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy). Her principle teachers are Joseph Goldstein, Rick Hanson, Dr Paul Gilbert and her own son, Cameron Irwin.

About the Mindfulness 2.0 Teachers

The approach by all Mindfulness Works teachers is straightforward, practical and heartfelt and directed towards you discovering your own innate wisdom and authentic experience.

Annie Harvey – Hove, Adelaide

Teacher, tutor, speaker and wellbeing coach since 1999, Annie works one-on-one and in workshops to help with stress management and encourage people to live their life with purpose. Trained formally in MBSRT (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction for Adolescents) and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), Annie believes that living a life on purpose whilst using mindfulness skills in everyday life, is the only way to experience real joy and success.

Annie was introduced to mindfulness when going through a difficult time in her life. She began studying and practising mindfulness and meditation as well as devouring hundreds of personal development books.  These practices had a profound impact on her life and she wanted to share the skills with others. She hopes that teaching mindfulness within her community will provide an opportunity for people to experience moments of calm, joy and connection in this busy digital world that we all live.

Annie attends silent retreats in Thailand and Australia. Both lifelong learners and travellers, Annie lives with her husband Mark and their labradoodle, Meg, near the beach in Glenelg. They are also both trained Laughter Yoga Leaders which always provides a good conversation starter.

Anne Rodgers – Adelaide CBD

Formerly Managing Director of Starcom, a global media and communications agency, Anne turned to yoga and mindfulness to support her own mental health and to cope with the rigours of business. Anne was so taken with the benefits of mindfulness with her own wellbeing, she took a great leap of faith and changed her life’s direction to share her passion with others.

Anne now supports people to deal with the pressures of daily life through mindfulness-based practices; guiding her clients to replenish and regenerate the mind-body emotion connection with emphasis on breath awareness and balancing the nervous system.

Anne not only holds a Diploma of Management, she is a registered Hatha Yoga Instructor and has completed a Diploma of Positive Psychology and Wellbeing. She is a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction facilitator from the Jon Kabat-Zinn lineage.

Anne’s own happiness is supported by her personal practice of yoga, daily mindfulness practice, Argentine tango and rock ‘n roll dance – and snuggling her Russian blue cat Archie.

Claire Guild – Perth

Claire is founder of The Well-Being Creative, a lifestyle and wellness-based service for women. She has a Masters of Mental Health and is a trained Art Psychotherapist, Nurse and Wellness Coach with over 15 years clinical experience working in both Australia and the UK.

Claire is a qualified yoga teacher. She has practised yoga for 20 years including sitting meditation practices. In the last couple of years she has moved more towards mindfulness, completing the MBSR training and establishing her own mindfulness practice.

In her work as a psychotherapist, she has worked predominately with complex trauma and has incorporated mindfulness into her individual and group therapy work with children, adolescents and families.

Claire is passionate about working from a relational, transpersonal and positive psychology frame, integrating eastern philosophies into western practice. In her own life, Claire is passionate about living authentically and from a place of personal growth. She loves travel, the arts, the beach and all things health and wellness!

Helene Orr – Bondi Junction and Epping, Sydney

Helene has had a lifelong interest in yoga and meditation. She has had a regular practice of meditation, in a variety of traditions, since 2000 and experienced its benefits in the management of stress and pain.

With a strong interest in mind body science and wellbeing, she is currently completing her Masters in Health and Social Wellbeing. She completed mindfulness teacher training with the Mindfulness Training Institute of Australasia in 2015 and Yoga Teacher Training with Samadhi Yoga in 2006.

Helene currently teaches Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) in the community and in corporate settings and provides one-to-one coaching in health and wellbeing strategies, including meditation and mindfulness, through her company Insight Governance. Refer to www.insightgovernance.com.au for more information. She is keen to explore and assist people with using their inner resources to achieve balance and perspective in their health, wellbeing and everyday lives.

Helene is also a non-executive board member in the NFP and public sectors and a consultant in governance, risk management, organisational leadership and development in the human services sector.

She is a lover of nature, music, travel, learning and cats, especially Mischa and Olley, and enjoys weekend cooking for her family.
